{ Rumors! }

Hi, I am going into 8th grade and I am starting a new school. I am switching because of the drama in the old school my best friend went against me and starting to spread rumors about me and they were spreading like wild fire. And the new school i am going to is a very nice expensive private school and my parents all ready paid for me to go there. I went and toured it for a day and I loved it and then just the other day I got a email from a friend who goes there that rumors are all ready spreading about me. what should I do?

Dear Rumors,

Starting a new school in 8th grade must have a variety of emotions happening for you. On one side you must be excited about a new, private school and what it will be like. On another side - what if there are already rumors spread about you and the other students judge you before they even know you!

My suggestion - go to your new school on the first day - and be yourself. Introduce yourself to some people and make some new friends - you will be the one no one knows about, so you automatically have a mysterious presence in the school. If you hear rumors about yourself, just shrug them off - in less than a week - the rumors should be forgotten about after having met cool people to hang out with.

I am one to understand, as much as drama is fun to watch on TV, when it comes to our own lives, drama just equals trouble.

Good luck!

{ Neighbor-Advice: Nosy Neighbors }

We recently moved into a new home and are working on fixing it up.Everytime we are outside doing anything our neighbors come over with the constant why and what for questions.They also find it necessary to point out that we are doing everything wrong and should be more concerned about the two large trees on their property falling and hitting our house(they want us to pay to have them removed)When we are not outside they will often send their granddaughter over to peek into our windows to see what we're up to.Is barbed wire my only solution?

Dear Nosy Neighbors,

I can imagine that it must be annoying to be bombarded with questions when you just want to come home and relax.
My suggestion to you is to "kill them with kindness". I use this method with most people who do annoy me. I am so nice and polite to the person - that I may become annoying to them as well. I find that the people tend to bug me less - and everyone is a little happier in the long run.

If you would like to learn a little more about how to "Kill them with Kindness" - see the "Kill them with Kindness Blog" (http://killthemwithkindness.blogspot.com/).

Good luck and let us know what happens!
